Senior Manager, OpCo Engagement

Quanta Services, Inc. · Houston, TX · 1 mo ago
Business Development$32/hrFull-time

About the role

Quanta Services (NYSE: PWR) is scaling beyond $32B with 60+ operating companies delivering critical infrastructure across North America. Technology is both an enabler and an obstacle for these decentralized businesses to move faster, safer, and more profitably. Operations IT serves as the connective tissue between the operating companies and Enterprise IT, ensuring enterprise capabilities work in the field and that field reality shapes enterprise strategy. The role combines client relationship management, business consulting, and team leadership. You will personally deliver Management Consulting and Advisory engagements for Quanta's largest and most strategically pivotal operating companies, share leadership of Customer Success with the Customer Success Manager, and scale the engagement methodology across both. You will act as a credible peer to OpCo Presidents, CFOs, and IT leaders in conversations about technology strategy, organizational design, and future direction. This is a hands‑on senior leadership position where you will determine how OpCo Engagement scales as Quanta grows toward $60B, keep the team lean and the model right‑sized, and help build the department from the ground up. The pace is real: M&A is accelerating, Enterprise IT is rebuilding, and operating companies are moving fast and will not wait for you to catch up. Success requires experience building or scaling a consulting practice, leading large strategic consulting accounts, running a customer success organization, or building a strategic advisory function in a similarly demanding, ambiguous environment — and being energized by open questions about how the model itself should work.

Responsibilities

  • Be a Trusted Strategic Partner to OpCo Leadership
    • Hold your own with OpCo Presidents, CFOs, and IT leaders on technology decisions; challenge their thinking when warranted and defend the right answer when they push back.
    • Earn trust that enables hard conversations and advisory work.
    • Develop intimate knowledge of the operating companies in your portfolio: business models, field operations, IT environments, vendor relationships, and organizational dynamics.
    • Advise OpCos on technology strategy, IT approaches, and/or centralized services they should adopt.
    • Carry your own portfolio of the most complex operating companies and set the standard for engagement cadence, depth of knowledge, and quality of thinking for the rest of the team.
  • Be the OpCo's Voice in Enterprise IT and Route Demand Across the IT Organization
    • Act as the bridge and most credible voice of the field to Enterprise IT.
    • Inform what gets built and provide input while solutions are still being shaped.
    • Channel structured field feedback and demand to shape priorities; bring user‑experience requirements to centralized services.
    • Contribute substantively to Enterprise IT strategy and major investment decisions.
    • Help Enterprise IT reach the field so that centralized decisions land as something OpCos can work with.
    • Shape problems, shape demand, and route them to the right place (IT Procurement, Service Portfolio Management, delivery teams).
    • Connect operating companies to each other when one has already solved a challenge another is facing.
    • Identify cross‑OpCo patterns and translate them into improvements to centralized services, vendor strategies, and cross‑OpCo collaboration.
  • Drive Adoption Across the OpCo Portfolio
