Advocates for Children
Understands Christ’s mandate to protect children. Commits to and prioritizes child protection considerations in all decision-making, tasks and activities across the ministry. Abides by all behavioral expectations in Compassion’s Statement of Commitment to Child Protection and Code of Conduct.
Professional Fundraising
- Sets strategy for professional fundraising efforts with particular emphasis on qualification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of major, high-level planned giving donors and constituents of Compassion's ministry.
- Directs and may oversee the development of planned giving operations programs, such as: marketing efforts, bequest processing, stewardship event planning, donor leads management, and situational donor pipeline strategies.
- Serves as key resource and leader for Compassion tours and project visits, meetings, and special events.
Leadership and Management
- Drives engagement strategies to build strong relationships with portfolios of constituents through regular personal visits, phone calls, mailings, marketing and other correspondence.
- Frequently speaks on behalf of Compassion or children in need in various settings and to a variety of prospective and current constituent audiences.
- Provides leadership and development to direct reports, fostering an environment of professional growth, in alignment with compassion’s strategies and objectives.
- Selects, manages and develops assigned staff, establishing goals and objectives, coaching and managing performance, including discipline, motivation, and annual reviews.
Budget and Administration
- Compiles or prepares and administers the annual budget and departmental expenses, ensuring accountability for on-time completion of deliverables based on department objectives, SLAs, and other Compassion standards, ensuring compliance with regulatory and board policies.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in a related field.
- Fifteen years Relevant experience working in this or a related field.
- Certification from a nationally or internationally recognized organization in a related field.
