Senior Manager of Organizing
About the role
HANA Center (HANA) is a Chicago-area non-profit organization working to meet the critical needs of Korean, Asian American, and multiethnic immigrant communities and build power toward systemic change. HANA has offices in Chicago and Prospect Heights, Illinois. Utilizing a services-to-organizing model, HANA focuses on developing the leadership of the most vulnerable community members, including low-income, limited English proficient, undocumented immigrants, youth, women, seniors, LGBTQ+ people, and adoptees. HANA’s primary organizing communities are multigenerational Koreans and multiethnic immigrants in Albany Park and the northwest suburbs. Led by a strong community base and leadership, HANA builds community power to achieve social, economic, and racial justice. HANA organizes ongoing community education and cultural programs, political education series, skills-building trainings, and year-round civic engagement. HANA also advocates for policies that support all immigrants, including undocumented, youth, adults, families, older adults, and intercountry adoptees. The Senior Manager of Organizing is a key member of HANA’s leadership team. The Senior Manager provides deep understanding and experience in community leadership development, power building, base membership development, and campaigns with a focus on empowering directly impacted and vulnerable community members to create systemic changes. The Senior Manager works in close coordination with HANA’s Executive Director to build a strong team of community organizers and work with them to align base-building, campaigns, policy, civic engagement, and leadership training. A successful Senior Manager provides strategic thinking and critical support, thus enabling the organization to meet its mission and build the power of the community. Reports to the Executive Director.
