Senior Manager, M&A Tax
About the role
The Mergers and Acquisitions practice at Baker Tilly Advisory Group, LP, works with owners and investors to help ease their tax burden and quantify tax exposures in various transactions. This includes buy-side and sell-side, restructuring, taxable and tax-free transactions. Responsibilities involve engagement management with clients, performing financial due diligence, coordinating services with other practice areas, building relationships with clients, and managing multiple client engagements.
Responsibilities
- Routinely work directly with c-suite executives on financial due diligence on middle-market companies in various industries
- Collaborate with private equity firms, strategic clients, and investment banks on buy-side and sell-side due diligence and other M&A tax activities
- Manage all aspects of deal execution, including sourcing and managing client relationships, analyzing and executing client deliverables, and coaching and managing other team members
- Coordinate services as needed with other practice areas of the firm
- Develop and maintain relationships with existing clients, including participating in networking and business development activities
- Lead and supervise M&A tax services engagement teams at a large national professional services firm
- Manage multiple client engagements and ensure successful project completion
- Travel to client locations up to 50%
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field required
- Master’s degree in Taxation or JD with LLM in taxation preferred
- Minimum of 8 years of related experience
- Previous experience in a public accounting or law firm preferred
- CPA and/or licensed attorney required
- Previous experience in tax due diligence and merger and acquisitions tax consulting preferred
- Proven experience leading M&A tax services engagement teams at a large national professional services firm preferred
- Proven market-facing skills to develop new business and sustain existing client relationships
- Minimum of 4 years of supervisory and training experience
- Proven experience managing multiple client engagements
- Strong project management and organizational skills
- Excellent Microsoft Excel skills
- Strong analytical, presentation, and marketing skills required
- Excellent interpersonal and verbal & written communication skills

Pay
The pay rate range for this job position is $179,850 to $340,970. Actual compensation is influenced by a variety of relevant factors including but not limited to applicant’s skills, prior experience, qualifications, degrees, professional certifications, work arrangements, and geographic location.
