About the role
The Mergers and Acquisitions practice at Baker Tilly Advisory Group, LP focuses on helping owners and investors ease their tax burden and quantify tax exposures in various transactions. Services provided include tax due diligence, tax structuring, quantitative tax modeling, transaction agreement review, and consultation.
Responsibilities
- Routinely work directly with c-suite executives on financial due diligence for middle-market companies across different industries.
- Collaborate with private equity firms, strategic clients, and investment banks on buy-side and sell-side due diligence and other M&A tax activities.
- Manage all aspects of deal execution, including client relationship management, delivery of client deliverables, and coaching and managing other team members.
- Coordinate services with other practice areas within the firm.
- Develop and maintain relationships with existing clients, participating in networking and business development activities.
- Lead and supervise M&A tax services engagement teams, providing both leadership and training.
- Manage multiple client engagements effectively, demonstrating strong project management and organizational skills.
- Utilize strong analytical, presentation, and marketing skills to support client needs.
- Communicate effectively verbally and in writing to build and maintain client relationships.
- Travel up to 50% of the time to client locations as needed.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field required.
- Master’s degree in Taxation or JD with LLM in taxation preferred.
- Minimum of 8 years of related experience, preferably in a public accounting or law firm.
- Previous experience in tax due diligence and M&A tax consulting preferred.
- Proven experience leading M&A tax services engagement teams at a large national professional services firm.
- Minimum of 4 years of supervisory and training experience.
- Strong project management and organizational skills.
- Excellent Microsoft Excel skills.
- Proven market-facing skills to develop new business and sustain existing client relationships.
- Must be willing and able to travel up to 50% of the time.
Qualifications
- CPA and/or licensed attorney required.
