Senior Manager, M&A Tax
About the role
The Mergers and Acquisitions practice at Baker Tilly Advisory Group, LP focuses on helping owners and investors ease their tax burden and quantify tax exposures in various transactions. This includes buy-side and sell-side, restructuring, taxable and tax-free transactions. Services provided include tax due diligence, tax structuring, quantitative tax modeling, transaction agreement review, and consultation.
Responsibilities
- Routinely work directly with c-suite executives on financial due diligence for middle-market companies across various industries.
- Collaborate with private equity firms, strategic clients, and investment banks on buy-side and sell-side due diligence and other M&A tax activities.
- Manage all aspects of deal execution, including client relationship management, delivery of client deliverables, and coaching and managing team members.
- Coordinate services with other practice areas within the firm.
- Develop and maintain relationships with existing clients, participating in networking and business development activities.
- Lead and supervise M&A tax services engagement teams at a large national professional services firm.
- Show leadership and manage multiple client engagements effectively.
- Manage multiple client engagements efficiently, demonstrating strong project management and organizational skills.
- Use Microsoft Excel proficiently to handle complex data analysis and modeling.
- Present findings clearly and concisely, utilizing strong analytical, presentation, and marketing skills.
- Communicate effectively both verbally and in writing, building and maintaining strong client relationships.
- Be prepared to travel up to 50% of the time to client locations.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or a related field required.
- Master’s degree in Taxation or JD with LLM in taxation preferred.
- Minimum of 8 years of related experience, preferably in a public accounting or law firm.
- Previous experience in tax due diligence and M&A tax consulting preferred.
- Proven experience leading M&A tax services engagement teams at a large national professional services firm.
- Minimum of 4 years of supervisory and training experience.
- Proven market-facing skills to develop new business and sustain existing client relationships.
- Strong analytical, presentation, and communication skills.
- Willingness and ability to travel up to 50% of the time.
Pay
The pay rate range for this job position is $179,850 to $340,970. Actual compensation is influenced by a variety of relevant factors including but not limited to applicant’s skills, prior experience, qualifications, degrees, professional certifications, work arrangements, and geographic location.
