About the Role

We are looking for a Senior Manager, Planning Operations & SIOP to build and run the planning machinery of the company — Ursa Major’s monthly SIOP cadence. This senior individual contributor / player-coach owns the governed cycle that turns program demand, opportunity pipeline, and capacity into one committed plan on a rolling 18-month horizon. You will deploy and operate the SIOP process end-to-end, including the executive decision forums, KPI routines, and commercial operations layer (pipeline administration, KPI process, and escalation paths). You’ll sit at the center of Planning & SIOP, Operations, Programs, Supply Chain, and Finance to ensure we make clear, data-backed decisions and keep our delivery promises as we scale production.

Responsibilities

  • SIOP Cadence Ownership
    • Deploy and run the monthly SIOP cadence end-to-end — demand, supply, reconciliation, and executive decision reviews.
    • Maintain the SIOP calendar, meeting structure, and RASCI so each cycle completes on time with recorded decisions and actions.
    • Own the tools, templates, and standard agendas that keep the cadence repeatable and scalable.
  • Reporting, Data Packs & Executive Forums
    • Own the SIOP data and reporting layer at the process level: ensure each cycle opens with a consolidated data pack, not data-chasing.
    • Lead a 45–60 minute executive SIOP forum every cycle, holding the room to a decision agenda and leaving with clear commitments and follow-ups.
    • Partner with analytics teammates to translate complex planning data into clear, actionable executive materials.
  • Commercial Operations & KPI Process
    • Own the monthly KPI process for planning and commercial operations: define metrics, publish performance, and track actions to closure.
    • Administer the opportunity pipeline in partnership with Commercial and Programs: maintain sizing, timing, and probability and connect pipeline sufficiency to the plan.
  • In-Year Planning, Governance & Continuous Improvement
    • Stand up and run in-year reforecast, AOP, and risks-and-opportunities routines related to the plan; keep assumptions and decisions documented and traceable.
    • Build controls (validity checks, root-cause analysis, corrective actions) into planning routines to reduce error and increase agility.
    • Lead the transition of available-to-promise and other key planning logic out of spreadsheets and into Odoo, eliminating spreadsheet-validated commitments.
    • Identify process and data gaps within planning operations and commercial operations; drive improvements with a focus on automation and reduced manual work.

Requirements

  • Minimum Qualifications
    • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience.
    • 8+ years of experience in supply chain planning, SIOP/IBP, commercial operations, or planning operations in a manufacturing or hardware environment.
    • 3+ years building planning or commercial process and governance where none previously existed.
    • Demonstrated experience designing planning processes, KPI routines, and governance where little or none existed previously.
    • Experience working with ERP planning data and master data (e.g., MRP, ATP, lead times) in a regulated or complex manufacturing context.
    • Experience acting as a cross-functional liaison, comfortable working with technical, operational, and finance stakeholders.
  • Preferred Qualifications
    • Certifications or training in production planning, supply chain, or operations (e.g., APICS/ASCM CPIM, CSCP, or similar).
    • Experience moving planning logic out of spreadsheets and into ERP or other advanced tools.
    • Experience in high-volume, high-mix, or engineer-to-order environments.
    • 1+ years of experience in machining production control, shop scheduling, or related roles.
    • Aerospace or defense manufacturing experience is helpful but not required; candidates from other manufacturing industries are encouraged to apply.
