Senior Manager, Institutional Giving
About the role
The Senior Manager of Institutional Giving is responsible for identifying, stewarding and securing funding from institutional donors, such as private foundations and corporations. This role will travel approximately 30% of the time.
Responsibilities
- Establish a clear vision and strategy that enables SPLC to maintain and grow its institutional donor portfolio
- Write, edit, and prepare high-quality, compelling grant proposals and reports for institutional funders
- Manage a staff of three using SMARTIE objectives and provide coaching and mentorship to support the work
- Provide operational assistance to the broader team by supervising two support staff
- Liaise with program, communications, and monitoring and evaluation departments to digest and present programmatic impact in a compelling fashion
- Maintain systems for prospecting and cultivating donors as well as recording grant deliverables through effective tracking and managing of donor relationships
- Develop and implement strategies and goals for fundraising from foundations and other prospects for institutional grants
- Uphold SPLC's JEDI principles by seeking diverse collaborators and partners
Requirements
- A minimum of 7 years of experience in development/fundraising in a non-profit organization
- Experience working with institutional funders preferred
- Minimum of 3 years' management experience
- High school diploma or GED
Qualifications
The ideal candidate is results-driven, strategic, collaborative, articulate, influential, and resourceful, with a proven track record of soliciting and closing major institutional gifts. They must also demonstrate an understanding of and commitment to SPLC's mission, vision, and values.
Benefits
This is an exempt role and the minimum starting salary is $129,129 annually. Salary will be commensurate with experience. Benefits available to SPLC staff can be viewed online.
Schedule
This role has the following work designations options: Local Remote or Telework. The role will report to the Director of Major, Mid-Level and Institutional Giving and is expected to travel approximately 30% of the time.
