Senior Manager, Indirect Tax

Responsibilities

  • Compliance & Reporting - Working with our accounting group and external advisors, lead indirect tax compliance across multiple jurisdictions.
  • Techical Tax Leadership -- Advise on tax implications of transactions, contracts, and new business initiatives, monitor regulatory changes and ensure the company adapts accordingly.
  • Audit & Risk Management - manage indirect tax audits, notices, and information requests and develop strategies to minimize tax risk.
  • Cross‑Functional Collaboration - Work with finance, legal, procurement, accounting, sales operations and our tax team to ensure accurate taxability determinations, and support system updates, business expansions, and product launches from a tax perspective.
  • Technology & Process Optimization - oversee configuration and maintenance of indirect tax systems and drive process improvements and automation to increase efficiency and reduce errors.
  • Ledger & Team Development – manage and develop a team, including external advisors, and ensure high‑quality technical output.
  • Additional duties, including participation in our trade and customs area, as requested.

Required Skills and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in accounting, finance, tax or a related field!
  • CPA and sophisticated certifications are desirable.
  • 8+ years of dynamic indirect tax experience with a multinational organization and/or a major public accounting firm. Experience in global indirect tax and experience in trade and customs is desirable.
  • Excellent skills in factual development, tax research, documentation, and communication and coordination with third-party advisors and internal stakeholders.
  • Strong technical knowledge of indirect tax principles.
  • Experience designing and working with systems and software used to comply with indirect tax requirements.
  • The ability to translate sophisticated tax issues into practical business advice and influence decision-making across multiple functional areas.
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to prioritize competing demands and deliver high-quality work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Leadership experience, including hiring and developing tax professionals.
  • High degree of initiative, ownership, sound judgment, intellectual curiosity, and interpersonal skills and a willingness to learn new technical areas and adapt to changing business needs.

Pay

$187,000-$253,000 per year

Schedule

Based in Cambridge, UK, or in United Sates with the flexibility to work remotely from anywhere within the UK or United States.
