About the role

As a Senior Manager at Simon-Kucher, you will be a critical member of our Healthcare & Life Sciences, Pharma consulting team in North America. You will lead and manage the delivery of client projects, elevating analysis and insights with client-centric depth. This role involves driving project planning and execution, guiding a talented team of junior consultants, and developing trusted senior-level advisory relationships. You will engage senior client audiences, expand relevant capabilities, and identify new business opportunities to grow our commercial growth strategy footprint.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage client projects, ensuring alignment with client needs and objectives while managing timelines.
  • Guide and develop a team of junior consultants to produce innovative, actionable insights and recommendations using data, analytics, and research.
  • Develop trusted advisory relationships with senior clients by delivering high-quality, tailored recommendations.
  • Engage senior client audiences at all stages of their commercial growth strategy, securing buy-in for recommendations and solutions.
  • Expand and develop new capabilities, tactics, and tools to advance client business goals.
  • Identify and engage prospective clients to understand their needs and expand Simon-Kucher’s client base.
  • Provide exceptional client service and communication, even in challenging situations.
  • Prepare and present client-ready deliverables, incorporating feedback from senior client audiences.
  • Manage multiple projects and teams concurrently, providing coaching, training, and feedback to team members.
  • Define clear roles and responsibilities, demonstrating strong project management and execution.
  • Create project workplans and oversee research, qualitative and quantitative analysis to derive key insights for clients.
  • Oversee team outputs across multiple projects, ensuring balance between timeline and deliverable quality.
  • Contribute to the growth of Simon-Kucher’s Healthcare & Life Sciences, Pharma practice through thought leadership, new business opportunities, and client relationship development.
  • Develop and deliver new thought leadership in collaboration with peers and seniors within the division.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends and recommend process improvements.
  • Coach and mentor consultants, serving as a Career Development Advisor (CDA) to junior team members.
  • Demonstrate empathy and emotional intelligence in managing conflict and communicating change.
  • Play a key role in recruiting and integrating new consultants into the team.
  • Contribute to Simon-Kucher’s culture and success as a leader in the firm.

Requirements

  • Outstanding drive, determination, and desire to be part of a growing, top-tier consulting firm.
  • Strong knowledge of and passion for the Healthcare & Life Sciences and Pharmaceuticals sector.
  • Undergraduate degree required; minimum 6+ years of experience in a professional services environment, ideally in management consulting within Healthcare & Life Sciences and Pharmaceuticals.
  • Proven expertise in disciplines such as growth strategies, go-to-market strategy, segmentation, product and portfolio design, pricing, marketing, value proposition development, distribution strategy, sales strategies, and monetization strategies.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to distill insights from large datasets and communicate their impact.
  • Effective presentation and communication abilities to convey findings and recommendations to senior audiences.
  • Demonstrated record of solving complex problems, directing teams, and managing projects within tight timelines.
  • Strong work ethic, highly collaborative, and an exceptional entrepreneurial mindset.
  • Highly inclusive and empathetic approach to leadership and team management.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to work seamlessly with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ability to develop and maintain deep relationships with senior clients.
  • Existing network within the Healthcare & Life Sciences industry in North America is a plus.
  • Proven ability to build, grow, and maintain a high-performing consulting team.
  • In-office or client site presence 2-3 days per week in alignment with our hybrid working model.
  • Ability to travel up to 25% of the time.

Pay

The base salary range for this position is between $190,000 to $210,000 per year for U.S. roles. Specific compensation within these ranges will depend on factors such as experience, skills, and location. Total compensation includes base salary, performance bonus, and eligibility for annual merit-based increases.
