Senior Manager, Growth Marketing

About the role

We are seeking a Growth Marketing Senior Manager in Richmond, VA to join our FEI Commercial team, with openness to a remote work arrangement. This position will play a key role in helping Altria achieve its goal of a smoke‑free future. The leader will guide multi‑functional Front End Innovation (FEI) pod partners through agile sprints across multiple projects, translating consumer insights into a pipeline of new ideas with clear critical metrics, compelling concepts, and comprehensive branded innovation propositions that fuel long‑term growth through market expansion, transformation, and new category creation.

Responsibilities

• Lead multi‑functional pods in crafting and assessing new innovation ideas using an Agile Sprint process.
• Develop end‑to‑end propositions (ideas, variants, claims, pricing, naming, branding) and collaborate with Insights and Design to validate and optimize consumer desirability.
• Align with Consumer Insights, Finance, R&D, Design, Legal, Regulatory, and Go‑to‑Market teams to ensure alignment and accelerate execution.
• Define sizeable opportunity spaces and distill actionable insights from landscape assessments to guide conceptualization.
• Develop initial cases and align Fit for Use requirements and critical metrics to improve sell‑in and distribution.
• Deliver trademark and IP assessments and ensure supportable claims and demos alongside R&D and Law.
• Define brand vision, equity strategy, and executional elements that create desirability and distinctiveness, validated across consumer touchpoints.
• Confirm product–concept fit and breakthrough benefit delivery in partnership with UX Products Research.

Requirements

• 8+ years in Brand Management with 5+ years in innovation in CPG, including successful innovative and transformative launches.
• Experience working on 5+ innovation projects, with preference for candidates with go‑to‑market experience.
• Experience leading multi‑functional teams.
• Fluency in Stage Gate and Agile work processes.
• Experience translating insights into winning well‑rounded propositions across regions and channels.
• Experience with business model development and strong financial proficiency.
• Proven success managing others and working cross‑functionally across R&D, Insights, Design, and Finance.
• Strong communication skills and comfort presenting to senior leadership and cross‑functional partners.
• Experience navigating ambiguity, adapting plans, and working in fast‑paced, entrepreneurial environments with rapid, hypothesis‑based iteration.

Pay

The Salary Range for this position is: $132,500.00 – $202,100.00. The starting salary is based on but not limited to experience, knowledge, and qualifications in determining compensation decisions.
