Senior Manager, Global Revenue Accounting
About the role
We are seeking a Senior Manager, Global Revenue Accounting to lead our global revenue accounting function. This role will be responsible for ensuring accurate and compliant revenue recognition under U.S. GAAP, partnering cross-functionally with FP&A, Sales Operations, and Billing, and driving operational excellence across the revenue cycle.
Position Summary
This position will lead a team of five high performing individuals and report into the Global Controller organization. You will play a key leadership role in supporting financial reporting, audits, and process transformation initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
Revenue Accounting & Close: Lead the global revenue accounting function, ensuring accurate and timely revenue recognition in accordance with ASC 606. Manage the month-end close process for revenue, including review of journal entries, reconciliations, and reporting packages. Ensure timely and high-quality balance sheet reconciliations and account analyses.
Technical Accounting & Compliance: Interpret and apply U.S. GAAP revenue accounting guidance to complex SaaS and multi-element arrangements. Maintain and document revenue accounting policies and procedures. Support internal and external audit requests, ensuring timely and accurate responses.
Cross-Functional Partnership: Partner closely with FP&A, Sales Ops, and Billing teams to ensure accurate contract interpretation and revenue treatment.
Process Improvement & Systems: Drive automation and process improvements across the revenue cycle to improve efficiency and accuracy. Support system enhancements and implementations (e.g., billing, revenue recognition tools).
Leadership & Team Development: Lead, mentor, and develop a team of revenue accountants. Foster a high-performance, collaborative, and control-focused team environment.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance (CPA preferred)
8–12+ years of progressive accounting experience, with a focus on revenue accounting
Strong knowledge of ASC 606 / SaaS/ License/ Professional Service revenue recognition
Proven ability to lead teams and drive process improvements
Experience with ERP systems (NetSuite preferred) and SalesForce/Certinia a plus
Strong analytical, communication, and leadership skills
