Senior Manager Finance Global Process Owner (GPO)

Key enabler of successful transformation for accounting end-to-end processes. Own strategic decisions for driving end-to-end improvement and standardization for general accounting processes across functions, business units, and geographies. Drive strategic decisions that reduce error rates, strengthen controls, and implement cutting-edge technology solutions while aligning diverse stakeholders across multiple regions.

Responsibilities

  • Define process excellence goals and design standard, improved processes to meet those goals.
  • Develop, prioritize, maintain, and evolve a finance process improvement roadmap leveraging hyper-automation, AI/ML, and digital solutions.
  • Build and maintain expert understanding of end-to-end accounting processes, including standards, variations, pain points, technologies, and control environments.
  • Monitor emerging finance technologies, industry trends, and leading practices to recommend innovative approaches and tools.
  • Explore cloud-based solutions to elevate process excellence and enhance capabilities beyond existing ERP and point solutions.
  • Ensure global accounting processes comply with relevant financial regulations and standards, supporting financial policy.
  • Collaborate with IT and solution teams to implement automation, digital solutions, and technology-enabled enhancements.
  • Develop and maintain financial accounting process documentation, including policies, procedures, and training materials.
  • Conduct periodic financial audits and assessments to ensure compliance and identify risk mitigation opportunities.
  • Ensure GAAP compliance and financial reporting, including preparing and reviewing financial statements.
  • Lead technical accounting research and memorandum preparation for complex areas (e.g., ASC 606, ASC 842, business combinations).
  • Serve as the owner of internal and external audit relationships, ensuring audit readiness and timely resolution of findings.
  • Coordinate and manage annual financial statement audits, including pension audits, and implement corrective actions.
  • Monitor cash flow, manage fund transfers, and optimize cash reserves using advanced forecasting tools.
  • Set up new grant awards in the accounting system, including budget structures and reporting calendars.
  • Monitor grant spending to ensure compliance with donor guidelines.
  • Prepare and submit financial reports and reimbursement requests to government and private funders.
  • Maintain comprehensive electronic and paper files for each grant.
  • Lead grant reporting and related audits, if necessary.
  • Demonstrate familiarity with emerging AI and automation technologies (e.g., Generative AI, RPA) and their applications in accounting.
  • Interpret AI-driven insights and predictive analytics to support data-driven decision-making.
  • Manage, develop, and mentor accounting staff; set annual incentive goals and complete performance reviews.
  • Create and deliver high-quality presentations and financial analysis for executive meetings.
  • Identify stakeholder groups and understand their needs, sentiment, and experience related to the process.
  • Act as a liaison between finance teams, business units, and technology teams to drive process enhancements.
  • Extend process design considerations to all key external stakeholders and build strategic partnerships.
  • Establish and track KPIs to measure effectiveness and efficiency of global accounting processes.
  • Analyze performance data and metrics to identify areas for improvement and growth opportunities.
  • Lead generation of performance benchmarks using industry or internal best practices.
  • Prepare accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual consolidated financial statements.
  • Oversee identification, matching, and elimination of intercompany transactions and balances.
  • Record complex consolidation entries, execute intercompany eliminations, and review related-party transactions.
  • Execute FX translations and remeasurements for international subsidiaries while mitigating exchange rate volatility.
  • Ensure adherence to US GAAP and IFRS regulations, coordinating with external auditors during year-end reviews.
  • Standardize global close procedures, design automated workflows, and drive initiatives to shorten the monthly reporting cycle.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in accounting.
  • 7–10 years progressive accounting experience, with at least 4 years in a supervisory or leadership role.
  • 7–10 years implementing technology-enabled solutions to support process improvements.
  • 7–10 years driving efficiency, enhancing processes, and strengthening policies at a strategic level.
  • 7–10 years demonstrated flexibility to adapt to changing business needs and priorities.
  • Experience identifying and improving accounting processes through standardization, automation, and centralization.
  • Proven history of driving cost avoidance, cost reduction, and value engineering initiatives.
  • Experience developing and communicating comprehensive process strategies, securing buy-in from cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

  • CPA or CMA certification strongly preferred.
  • Advanced certifications in process management (e.g., Lean Six Sigma, Business Process Model and Notation) desired.

  • Change management expertise: Ability to evaluate organizational capacity for change and design tailored strategies for seamless implementation.
  • Technical accounting mastery: Deep expertise in U.S. GAAP standards, including complex areas like revenue recognition (ASC 606) and lease accounting (ASC 842).
  • Technology and data proficiency: Proficiency with financial management software (e.g., Oracle, SAP, Concur), advanced Microsoft Excel, and Business Intelligence (BI) tools.
  • Leadership and people management: Ability to manage and mentor staff, provide real-time coaching, and communicate complex financial findings to non-finance executives.

Pay

Minimum salary: $111,350.

Schedule

Full-time.
