Senior Manager, Finance - Financial Planning & Analysis, (Hybrid, Seattle)
About the role
This position is offered as a hybrid role in the Seattle, WA area. You must be willing to work onsite at the Nordstrom Seattle office a minimum of 4 days/week in order to be considered for this position. We are looking for a customer obsessed, results-oriented Finance leader to join our Corporate FP&A team. This role will own the enterprise financial close, ensuring close cycles are accurate, predictable, and well-coordinated across Accounting, FP&A, and business partners. The Sr. manager will also lead MBR and Board reporting, translating close outcomes into clear, enterprise-level narratives that connect financial results to key drivers, risks, and strategic themes for senior leadership. The successful candidate will have strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to distill complex financial information into actionable insights for executive audiences. This individual should be comfortable navigating ambiguity, driving standardization across functions, and operating with attention to detail in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
A day in the life
- Lead the enterprise financial close process, coordinating dependencies across Accounting, FP&A, and business partners
- Identify, communicate, and resolve close-related issues and risks, driving continuous improvement in close execution
- Own MBR and Board reporting, translating close outcomes into enterprise-level narratives and executive storylines that connect results to themes, key drivers, and risks across forums
- Support chart-of-accounts implementation and change management, including communication of governance changes to Finance and business teams
- Support report automation and process improvement to enhance capabilities within the finance team
- Build and develop a team of individual contributors through clear vision, prioritization, and support to achieve financial and business objectives
You own this if you have
- Bachelor's degree (finance or economics preferred)
- 8+ years of experience in finance or economics with scope and accountability progression
- Experienced team leader with a passion for teaching early and mid-career professionals
- Experience with corporate metrics and analytical methods
- Experienced in driver-based model building that is scalable and flexible
- Superior MS Excel abilities, including the ability to use formulas, functions & pivot tables
Pay
$131,500.00 - $210,500.00 Annual
