Responsibilities
- Lead the strategy, performance, and day-to-day operations of the Facilities function in support of safety, uptime, compliance, and site readiness.
- Oversee maintenance and operation of building systems, utilities, and facility infrastructure, including HVAC, lighting, grounds, and related equipment.
- Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing facilities team, while managing priorities, contractor performance, and escalated issues.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives that strengthen response time, asset reliability, service quality, and maintenance effectiveness.
- Manage facility-related capital and expense projects, including scope, budget, schedule, contractor coordination, and quality oversight.
- Partner with internal and external project teams to support new construction, tenant improvements, equipment installs, and infrastructure upgrades.
- Lead commissioning and startup readiness activities for facility systems, utilities, and infrastructure supporting new and expanded operations.
- Create and maintain handover package templates and document requirements for deliverables received from Construction and Design Engineering.
- Review, receive, and accept turnover documentation, including as-built drawings, O&M manuals, commissioning reports, training records, warranty documents, spare parts information, and asset data.
- Ensure punch-list items, deficiencies, and open issues are tracked to closure or transitioned clearly with ownership and action plans.
- Support CMMS readiness by ensuring asset information, preventive maintenance inputs, and equipment documentation are complete and usable.
- Develop and track KPIs related to facilities performance, maintenance execution, and project turnover quality.
- Maintain compliance with applicable environmental, health, safety, and regulatory requirements.
- Travel: Expected 30% of travel to support multiple sites across the US.
- Energy & Sustainability: Own energy efficiency and sustainability initiatives across facilities operations.
- Safety: Serve as site safety leader for facility operations, supporting EHS in developing robust incident response plans across sites.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related technical discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
- 7+ years of experience in facilities, plant engineering, commissioning, maintenance, or related operations support within complex manufacturing, industrial, or production environments.
- Experience leading facilities operations in a fast-paced environment with strong attention to safety, compliance, and reliability.
- Experience supporting commissioning, startup, turnover, or operational readiness activities for building systems, utilities, or infrastructure projects.
- Strong understanding of how to review and manage handover documentation from construction, design, OEMs, and contractors.
- Experience with capital project execution, contractor management, and cross-functional coordination.
- Familiarity with building management systems, facility controls, and maintenance planning processes.
- Experience with CMMS asset setup, preventive maintenance development, or turnover data requirements is a plus.
- Excellent communication, organization, and stakeholder management skills.
- A proactive mindset, sound technical judgment, and a passion for building reliable, scalable infrastructure.
- Experience in advanced manufacturing, battery, semiconductor, chemical processing, clean room, or other technically demanding industrial environments.
- Experience supporting large-scale facility expansions, utility systems, or technically complex project handovers.
- Experience working across facilities, construction, engineering, and operations teams in high-growth organizations.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to safely perform the essential functions of the role consistent with applicable federal, state, and local requirements.
- Ability to maintain regular attendance and support site needs, including occasional after-hours, weekend, or on-call support when required.
- Must be able to lift and carry materials or equipment as needed for the role.
- Must be able to walk job sites, climb stairs, and work in office, industrial, and outdoor environments.
Working Conditions
- This role may be performed in office, industrial, construction, and outdoor settings, with exposure to noise, weather, hazardous materials, and active project environments.
- The position may require support during shutdowns, startup activities, commissioning events, or other critical operational windows.
Pay
Compensation will be commensurate with experience.
