About the role
Headquartered in Plano, TX, Samsung Electronics America, Inc. (SEA) is a leader in mobile technologies, consumer electronics, home appliances, and enterprise solutions. We are seeking a Senior Marketing Manager to lead planning and strategy for major US tradeshows and events. This position will work with internal stakeholders across all lines of business to execute best-in-class events and achieve business goals, as well as manage outside agencies to ensure Samsung is represented correctly and effectively according to our Brand Guidelines.
Up to 50% domestic travel is required for this role.
Responsibilities
- Lead coordination and execution of major trade shows and events (10+ major events and 5-10 smaller events annually).
- Determine execution plans for tradeshows and events, aligning demonstrations of Samsung offerings with brand guidelines.
- Establish and manage ROI, timelines, budgets, and workflows to deliver against objectives and deadlines.
- Support the development of the annual strategic event calendar based on divisional direction and industry insight.
- Organize multiple stakeholders, including Marketing, PR, HQ, and Management, for each event.
- Identify and manage internal and external services, such as exhibitor vendors, craft services, event management, hotel/travel, freight, and logistics.
- Support internal and external communication regarding all events to ensure proper participation.
- Make regular decisions for tradeshow and event execution, including vendor management, exhibit design, budget management, and overall show execution.
- Lead full strategy for major US tradeshows, including logistics for assets and storage, cost and funding strategy, and asset inventory/reduction plans.
- Provide guidance on tradeshow and event execution to new contracted employees as a knowledge expert.
Requirements
- 8+ years of experience in event and tradeshow management.
- Highly organized with the ability to multitask, manage multiple deadlines, and maintain key relationships with vendors and internal/external organizations.
- Extensive knowledge of trade show activities and venues.
- Expertise in managing large-scale projects with multiple stakeholders, including time management, budget management, and project management.
- Ability to work independently or with teams, and lead/manage a small team for major events.
- Strong project management acumen to lead cross-functional work streams for successful and on-time execution.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to prioritize tasks effectively and thrive in a fast-paced, unpredictable environment.
- Collaborative team player with strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
- Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, or Event/Hospitality Management preferred (equivalent direct experience in corporate events accepted).
