The company engages both internal teams and external vendors, including offshore resources, to manage software delivery with attention to process discipline and predictable outcomes. About the Opportunity:The SENIOR MANAGER, ENGINEERING & PRODUCT DELIVERY leads the execution of software projects from business requirements through to production release. This role ensures effective backlog management, sprint execution, quality assurance, and release coordination. It directly manages internal engineering staff and oversees vendor teams, acting as the key liaison between business stakeholders, product owners, and engineering. The position focuses on process rigor, team leadership, and consistent delivery rather than technical architecture or design decisions. Responsibilities:Manage requirement intake and maintain a prioritized Jira backlog.Translate business requests into clear, buildable specifications.Facilitate design-to-development handoffs ensuring completeness of UI/UX and data models.Lead agile ceremonies including standups, sprint planning, and retrospectives.Track sprint velocity, capacity, and drive release readiness and approvals.Identify and escalate blockers to avoid schedule risks.Provide delivery progress reports to executive leadership.Implement continuous improvements in delivery processes.Directly manage a team of approximately five internal engineers.Conduct performance reviews, career development, and recruitment for engineering staff.Oversee day-to-day vendor team delivery and hold them accountable to standards.Coordinate onboarding of supplemental engineering resources.Serve as the engineering liaison to business and IT stakeholders.Collaborate with architecture, IT Operations, and security teams on dependencies and design feasibility.Participate in strategic planning related to engineering capacity and delivery. Requirements:Minimum 5 years in software engineering or engineering management, including at least 2 years managing engineering teams.Experience managing both internal and offshore vendor development teams with accountability for sprint commitments.Proficient in Jira and agile methodologies with experience maintaining backlogs and running agile ceremonies.Background in healthcare, insurance, or regulated industries with understanding of compliance requirements.Strong communication skills bridging business and technical stakeholders.Experience working in organizations sized 50–500 employees without extensive PMO or dedicated scrum master support.Preferred: Knowledge of Salesforce development environments, AWS cloud services, healthcare technology platforms, and platform modernization.
