Senior Manager, Engineering

About the role

The Senior Engineering Manager at JBT Marel plays a crucial technical and strategic role. Reporting to the General Manager, this position focuses on designing, developing, and improving high-pressure (HPP) machinery for the food, beverage, and pharmaceutical industries. Key responsibilities include overseeing engineering teams, solving complex technical problems, enhancing quality and warranty performance, and guiding the sales and service teams.

Responsibilities

• Oversight and leadership of engineers in designing pressure vessels, controls, and frames for HPP equipment.
• Solving complex technical problems related to workshop, wire winding, assembly, procurement, and customer care.
• Improving quality and warranty performance.
• Ensuring knowledge transfer within the engineering team and implementing knowledge throughout the organization.
• Hiring and mentoring other engineers and supporting staff.
• Participating in and guiding design reviews of engineering solutions.
• Establishing administrative policies, procedures, and standards.
• Collaborating with current and new suppliers to enhance internal and external quality.
• Supporting the sales and service teams and customers to achieve company goals.
• Using project management and product development tools to improve efficiency.
• Reducing costs through increased Return on Capital Invested (RCI) and Value Added/Value Eliminated (VA/VE) activities.
• Generating Intellectual Property (IP) and high-value features while benchmarking against competitors to maximize margins and market share.

Requirements

• A Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline such as Mechanical Engineering is required.
• An MS or MBA is preferred, with certifications such as Six Sigma Black Belt, Lean, and PMP.
• 10+ years of engineering experience, including 5+ years managing engineering teams.
• Experience with SolidWorks and Ansys is preferred.
• Experience with material (metallic) and ASME B&PV Code is advantageous.

Pay

The estimated annual salary range for this role is $130,000 - $175,000 annually. Starting salary will vary based on location, qualifications, and prior experience. A bonus is included with this position.

This position is onsite with up to 20% travel.
