About the role

Vantive is seeking a dynamic and experienced Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Lead to support the Renal Private Fleet (RPF), Planning and Fulfillment, Technical Services, Commercial, and offices in the USA and Canada. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring EHS compliance, driving continuous improvement, and enhancing EHS knowledge and awareness across the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, manage, and hold accountable a team of EHS professionals to meet department and support global goals.
  • Manage, plan, and monitor the EHS Management System to ensure compliance with applicable Company and regulatory requirements.
  • Identify and develop action plans to mitigate risks and report significant EHS issues to stakeholders.
  • Communicate the business impacts of EHS to leadership and influence EHS compliance and programs.
  • Collaborate with business managers to enhance EHS knowledge and awareness.
  • Define Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for the segment and provide regular updates on EHS performance, trend analysis, and drive continuous improvement.
  • Lead incident investigations, implement corrective and preventive actions, and ensure timely reporting.
  • Develop and deliver EHS training and awareness programs for employees, contractors, and visitors.
  • Conduct Gemba walkthroughs, internal audits, and develop EHS campaigns and communications.
  • Coordinate and support business units in addressing EHS customer/client concerns and analyzing their needs.
  • Ensure risk assessments are completed and updated for all jobs and tasks throughout the operations.
  • Support the business in due diligence processes, including EHS risk assessments and compliance reviews.
  • Identify and share internal and external best practices in EHS.
  • Develop, implement, monitor, and report on EHS metrics and performance indicators.
  • Manage the EHS budget ensuring effective allocation and utilization of resources.
  • Implement operating policies, standards, and procedures.
  • Maintain, implement, and follow up on EHS documents including contracts, register of hazardous products, waste management, safety data sheets, EHS permits, and other relevant documentation.

Requirements

  • Seven to ten years’ experience in EHS roles, preferably some of those years in warehouses and fleets.
  • Direct people management experience, including hiring, training, and performance evaluation.
  • Proven track record of developing and implementing EHS programs, managing compliance, and driving continuous improvement.
  • Familiarity with EHS management systems (e.g., ISO 14001, ISO 45001).
  • Strong knowledge of DOT/FMCSA regulations, OSHA standards, and drug and alcohol testing programs.
  • Proven track record of developing and implementing EHS programs, managing compliance, and driving continuous improvement at regional level.
  • Travel to sites under the responsibility of this role as well as other travel as needed.
  • Sustainability experience is a plus.
  • Bachelor’s degree in environmental and occupational health, industrial hygiene safety, sustainability, or related field.
  • Certifications in REHS/ISO/OSHA/ according to the state law and scope of the position or sufficient training and experience.
  • Certified Safety Professional designation (CSP) or Certified Hazardous Materials Manager (CHMM) highly desired.

  • Ability to work in healthcare settings such as hospitals and clinics and abide by customer personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements including, but not limited to, gowning and facial masks.
  • Able to carry out the physical requirements of the job including kneeling and standing for long periods of time, squatting, bending, lifting, pulling, twisting.
  • Able to regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move in excess of 50 pounds using lifting aids, technologies, or appropriate assistance.
  • Must be able to sit and drive extended distances as per region requirements or fly for several hours.
  • Must be able to travel including overnight stays as required.
  • Valid driver’s license.

Benefits

The estimated base salary for this position is $136,000 - $170,000 annually. Pay

We understand compensation is an important factor as you consider the next step in your career. At Vantive, we are committed to equitable pay for all employees, and we strive to be more transparent with our pay practices. The estimated base salary for this position is $136,000 - $170,000 annually. The estimated range is meant to reflect an anticipated salary range for the position. We may pay more or less than the anticipated range based upon market data and other factors, all of which are subject to change. Individual pay is based on upon location, skills and expertise, experience, and other relevant factors.
