This role is based in El Paso, TX or Plano, TX with a hybrid schedule (work 3 days onsite). Our standard hybrid schedule includes in-office collaboration from Tuesday through Thursday, with the option to work remotely on Mondays and Fridays.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and oversee revenue, inventory, payroll, and sales commission accounting activities.
  • Manage inventory accounting processes, including reserve calculations, freight and overhead capitalization, inventory variance analysis, and reconciliations between warehouse systems and the general ledger.
  • Oversee month-end and quarter-end close activities, including the preparation and review of journal entries, account reconciliations, and related analyses.
  • Perform financial and operational variance analyses, identifying key trends, risks, and opportunities.
  • Support the preparation and review of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting.
  • Partner with internal and external auditors by coordinating requests, providing supporting documentation, and addressing accounting-related inquiries.
  • Research emerging accounting standards and pronouncements and lead the implementation of related accounting policies, procedures, and process changes.
  • Collaborate with FP&A, Operations, Sales, IT, and Shared Corporate Services on cross-functional projects, system enhancements, and process improvement initiatives.
  • Provide accounting guidance and financial support to internal stakeholders across the organization.
  • Develop, coach, and mentor accounting team members while fostering a collaborative, high-performing team environment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or a related field.
  • 8+ years of progressive accounting or finance experience.
  • 5+ years of people leadership experience.
  • 3+ years of inventory and/or cost accounting experience.
  • Experience supporting month-end close, financial reporting, and audit activities.
  • Authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Active Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license.
  • Public accounting experience and/or experience working for a publicly traded company.
  • Experience with large ERP systems and financial consolidation tools.

Skills

  • Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP, financial reporting, and corporate accounting practices.
  • Proficiency with accounting and reporting systems, including Oracle Business Intelligence and OneStream.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, with proficiency in Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex financial information.
  • Demonstrated ability to build relationships and collaborate with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, organizational skills, and commitment to accuracy.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proven leadership skills with experience developing and mentoring team members.
