Senior Manager, Controllership

In this high-impact role, you'll partner with Finance, Technology, Product, Engineering, and Executive Leadership to address complex accounting matters, drive transformation, strengthen controls, and support decisions involving significant investments.
About the team
The Corporate Accounting Team supports accounting, risk management and internal controls for various corporate functions including Global Tech. We work at the intersection of finance, operations, and compliance, driving high-quality reporting, risk management, and process improvement across the enterprise. Our team collaborates closely with cross-functional partners to align financial objectives and initiatives, support decision-making and financial planning while ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting. Focused on continuous improvement, the team drives process enhancements and upholds rigorous standards in financial analysis, internal controls, and corporate accounting to support the organization’s strategic goals.
What you'll do
- Lead accounting strategy for Walmart's technology initiatives by advising on complex transactions, strategic projects, and emerging business models.
- Partner with Finance and Technology leaders to ensure US GAAP compliance while supporting innovation and growth.
- Oversee accounting reviews, analyze financial performance, and resolve complex accounting matters.
- Drive automation, process improvements, and digital transformation to enhance efficiency, controls, and scalability.
- Strengthen governance through SOX compliance, risk management, and collaboration with internal and external auditors.
- Represent Corporate Controllership on enterprise initiatives, providing executive-level accounting guidance and influencing key business decisions across Finance, Technology, and Operations.
What you'll bring
- Deep expertise in accounting, financial reporting, and US GAAP.
- Experience supporting technology organizations, software development, cloud computing, digital products, or technology investments.
- Proven success leading accounting transformation, automation, and process improvement initiatives.
- Strong ability to influence senior leaders and communicate complex accounting concepts effectively.
- Demonstrated track record of building cross-functional partnerships and driving results in matrixed organizations.
- Skilled at solving complex problems and developing scalable solutions.
- Experience with enterprise accounting systems and automation tools, including SAP, BlackLine, and related technologies.
What you'll earn
The annual salary range for this position is $90,000.00 - $180,000.00 Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses. Additional compensation for certain positions may also include : Stock
Minimum Qualifications

- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field and 4 years’ experience in finance, accounting, or related area OR 6 years’ experience in finance, accounting, or related area.
- 1 year’s supervisory experience.
