Senior Manager, Contract Manager
About the role
The Senior Manager, Contract Manager role at Capital One is a key member of the Enterprise Supplier Management (ESM) team. Reporting to the Director, Contract Management, you will be responsible for managing and updating the full catalog of contracting templates used by ESM to support third-party engagements. You will also manage systems that house ESM’s contracting templates and drive critical thinking and collaboration across ESM teams to implement updates and ensure continuity in the contracting function. Additionally, you will lead the design and implementation of thoughtful change management practices to communicate critical information to appropriate stakeholder groups and minimize disruptions to the contracting function.
Responsibilities
- Contracting Processes/Controls Management: Coordinating and managing updates to critical contracting processes and controls designed to promote adherence to rigorous internal and external standards.
- Contracting Systems Management: Leading the management of systems that house ESM’s contracting templates and driving critical thinking and collaboration across ESM teams necessary to implement updates and ensure continuity in the contracting function.
- Contracting Templates Management: Working closely with stakeholder groups and contract management teams to update, streamline, and evolve contracting templates, playbook, and other training material in a manner that promotes efficiency while also maintaining Capital One’s contracting risk profile in line with an ever-changing legal, regulatory and market framework.
- Change Management: Designing and implementing thoughtful change management practices targeted to communicate critical information to appropriate stakeholder groups and minimize disruptions to the contracting function.
- Process Improvement: Acting as a thought partner in reviewing existing processes that impact contracting to implement changes towards increasing efficiency and effectiveness.
- Collaboration: Working closely with the larger ESM team, business teams and various stakeholders as appropriate.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree or Military experience
- At least 6 years of legal or professional experience in drafting, evaluating, negotiating and executing procurement contracts
Preferred Qualifications
- Juris Doctorate
- 7+ years of experience in drafting, evaluating, negotiating and executing procurement contracts
- 7+ years of experience creating and executing contracting and negotiation strategies
- 3+ years of process management experience
