Senior Manager, Claims

About the role

AmTrust Financial Services, a fast-growing commercial insurance company, seeks a Workers’ Compensation Claims Manager for the South Jordan office. The WC Claims Manager partners with Claim Supervisors to ensure Workers’ Compensation claims adjusters adhere to AmTrust Best Practices, develops and maintains professional customer and broker relationships, and ensures staff demonstrate customer service principles.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day performance of Supervisors who manage teams of technical claim examiners.
• Monitor and regulate performance of assigned or delegated tasks; hold team accountable for results.
• Ensure compliance with AmTrust Claims Handling Guidelines and deliver excellent customer service.
• Recruit, evaluate, and develop staff to foster effective teamwork.
• Communicate current case status to leadership through regular updates and reports.
• Enforce all AmTrust policies, procedures, and controls.
• Utilize claims-related tools, systems, and reports to manage team performance.
• Provide technical oversight via supervisor diaries, one-on-one meetings, and claims reviews.
• Review work of others through file reviews; identify and act on coaching opportunities to support staff development and advancement.
• Hold the team accountable for meeting expectations and mentor individuals to ensure compliance.
• Manage negotiation of claims settlements to ensure timely and cost-effective resolution.
• Maintain current knowledge of related laws and regulations and communicate updates to staff.
• Define team goals and communicate them to assigned staff.
• Motivate staff to perform at the highest level.
• Perform other assigned projects.

Requirements

• BA/BS degree or equivalent.
• 7+ years of progressive management or supervisory experience within the Workers’ Compensation insurance industry.
• SIP certificate where required.
• Experience with computerized claims management and office systems.
• Thorough knowledge of related government laws and regulations.
