About the Role

The Senior Manager, General Merchandise Asset Monitoring leads the strategy and execution of centralized, real-time monitoring for connected General Merchandise assets across stores and clubs. This includes fryers, ovens, foodservice equipment, and other digitized assets. The role leverages asset data, statistical process control, and predictive analytics to identify performance issues, optimize dispatch strategies, improve asset reliability, and enable data-driven repair-versus-replace decisions. The role partners closely with Asset Management, Field Service, Technology, and Operations to enhance remote diagnostics, reduce downtime, and improve the performance of Walmart's connected asset portfolio.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute monitoring strategies for connected GM assets by leveraging real-time data, analytics, and statistical process control to identify performance trends, prioritize interventions, and improve asset reliability.
  • Develop business strategies and operational processes by translating asset insights into actionable recommendations, optimizing repair-versus-replace decisions, improving dispatch effectiveness, and driving continuous process improvement.
  • Partner cross-functionally with Asset Management, Field Service, Technology, Engineering, and Operations to enhance remote diagnostics, improve technician readiness, implement scalable monitoring capabilities, and support enterprise asset performance objectives.
  • Drive execution of business plans and strategic initiatives by establishing priorities, managing multiple projects, removing barriers, measuring performance, and adapting strategies to meet evolving business needs.
  • Provide thought leadership through business analysis, performance reporting, and operational insights while identifying opportunities to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and support long-term asset lifecycle strategies.
  • Build and develop a high-performing team by coaching, mentoring, setting clear expectations, fostering collaboration, and creating an inclusive environment where associates can grow and succeed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Analytics, Statistics, or related field and 4 years’ experience in data analytics, project management, business, or related area OR 6 years’ experience in data analytics, project management, business, or related area.
  • 2 years’ experience using intermediate functionality of Microsoft Office.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with statistical programming languages.
  • Experience supervising associates.
  • Experience working on cross-functional teams or projects.
  • Master’s degree in Business Administration.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification.
  • Six Sigma Black Belt or Green Belt Certification.

The amount of PTO depends on job classification and length of employment and will meet or exceed the requirements of paid sick leave laws, where applicable.

Pay

The annual salary range for this position is $80,000.00 - $155,000.00. Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses and stock for certain positions.
