About the role

We are seeking an experienced and motivated individual to join our dynamic team as a Senior Accountant. This role will play a key part in managing complex accounting engagements, ensuring financial accuracy and client satisfaction.

Responsibilities

  • Own the client relationship and the story behind the numbers
  • Lead complex, multi-client accounting engagements under GAAP standards
  • Manage client communications, deliverables, and expectations with confidence
  • Ensure financials are client-ready — accurate, clear, and delivered on time
  • Review and deliver high-quality financial reporting packages with accuracy and consistency
  • Lead, develop, and protect the performance of your pod
  • Mentor Senior Accountants, Staff Accountants, and Bookkeepers toward professional growth
  • Own team utilization and workload decisions to balance capacity and engagement mix
  • Build a team culture that holds both people and standards in high regard
  • Drive delivery quality and manage risk before it becomes a client issue
  • Oversee month-end close, reconciliations, journal entries, and financial reporting across multiple client accounts
  • Review and approve financial packages, analyses, and client-facing deliverables
  • Use scorecard metrics to identify risk early and drive structural fixes
  • Identify, design, and implement process improvements across workflows, documentation, and internal handoffs
  • Lead with clarity — turn ambiguity into actionable structure for your team
  • Monitor revenue, gross margin, scope tension, and client expectations vs. engagement reality
  • Escalate and address issues proactively — not reactively

Requirements

Minimum qualifications include:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • 5+ years of relevant experience in accounting or a related field
  • CPA certification preferred
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively
  • Experience with GAAP and financial reporting

Qualifications

Preferred qualifications include:

  • Experience leading teams and mentoring junior staff
  • Knowledge of accounting software and systems
  • Experience with project management tools
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Experience working in a fast-paced, client-facing environment

Skills

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • Strong leadership and mentorship skills
  • Exceptional organizational and time management skills
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite

  • Retail: SIMPLE IRA with 3% dollar-for-dollar match (Vanguard)
  • Devices/Hardware: Company-issued laptop for full-time employees (contractors provide their own)

Pay
