About the Role
The Senior Manager, Architecture & Engineering Design - Creative directs the management of the architectural and engineering design and programming documentation effort within Creative Studio and projects. This role coordinates the work of outside contract firms, project partners, stakeholders, and other in-house teams to ensure projects align with and support the overall creative and facility plan vision. The position serves as a department resource for Creative projects and supports approved strategies through short-term and mid-term objectives and plans.
Responsibilities
- Directs coordination between the project design team and Facility Architecture and Engineering vendors, including developing preliminary facility program input and exhibits to convey design intent.
- Actively participates in the preparation of design drawings and exhibits.
- Reviews drawings and specifications to ensure they meet creative and design intent, satisfy development criteria, and are complete and accurate for transition to the project development team.
- Identifies, develops, and defines Front of House (FOH) and Back of House (BOH) program requirements through ongoing interface with UPR Business, Operational, and Creative teams.
- Ensures program requirements are thoroughly addressed, vetted, incorporated, and met within project design efforts to guarantee creative and technical delivery, operational functionality, quality design, and cost-effectiveness.
- Supports the management of Facility Architecture and Engineering scope of work, request for proposal documents, vendor selection, proposal analysis, and vendor recommendations.
- Reviews requests for additional services, prepares directives, negotiates changes, and incorporates agreed-upon changes into vendor agreements.
- Reviews weekly and monthly progress reports on project status and directs efforts to address trends and changes.

- Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with organizational policies and applicable laws.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Engineering, or Construction Management, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Professional license in architecture and/or engineering is preferred.
- 9+ years of experience in the management and development of entertainment or hospitality-based projects such as theme parks, hotels, retail, food/beverage, and entertainment venues, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Knowledge and experience with theme park projects, including operations, maintenance, major ride/show systems, and construction, is preferred.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
