The Position Lead accounting and financial close activities supporting DPM US manufacturing operations and helps ensure strong financial stewardship, governance, and business partnering across the organization. The role is accountable for the integrity of financial reporting, balance sheet governance, internal controls, and accurate, timely accounting outcomes aligned with business objectives and regulatory expectations. This position also drives people leadership, audit readiness, and continuous improvement of accounting processes in a complex, regulated, and growing manufacturing environment. Relationships Reports to Director or above. Interacts with Finance, Production, Supply Chain, Quality, Engineering, Procurement, Global Finance, Tax, Treasury, Compliance, and Legal stakeholders. Supervises accounting professionals and provides leadership, coaching, and escalation support within the team. Essential Functions Lead accounting activities for DPM US, ensuring compliance with applicable US GAAP, IFRS, and Novo Nordisk accounting policiesOversee month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes, ensuring timely and accurate completion of deliverablesEnsure integrity of general ledger, balance sheet accounts, reconciliations, accruals, reserves, and supporting documentationReview and approve journal entries, accounting analyses, and significant estimates impacting financial resultsEnsure appropriate accounting treatment for manufacturing, inventory, fixed assets, capi-tal projects, and operational expendituresOwn balance sheet governance, including identification of financial risks and follow-up on mitigation actionsMaintain a strong internal control environment and ensure compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) requirementsLead internal and external audit activities, manage auditor interactions, and ensure timely remediation of findingsAct as escalation point for complex accounting, reporting, and financial governance matters within scopePartner with cross-functional stakeholders to provide accounting guidance that supports informed business decisionsLead, coach, and develop accounting team members, including performance management and capability buildingDrive employee engagement, succession planning, and organizational effectiveness within the accounting teamCoordinate alignment with Global Finance and other stakeholders on policies, processes, and reporting requirementsDrive standardization, simplification, and automation of accounting processes and close activitiesSupport implementation of new systems, tools, and accounting requirements impacting the functionIdentify opportunities to improve reporting quality, efficiency, and control effectiveness across accounting operationsEnsure alignment between accounting outputs, operational drivers, and overall business objectivesDemonstrate strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills to effectively collaborate across functions and drive alignmentApply sound judgment, problem-solving, and organizational capabilities to manage multiple priorities and deliver high-quality, accurate resultsFollow all safety & environmental requirements in the performance of dutiesOther accountabilities as assigned Physical Requirements Ability to work in an open office environment with the possibility of frequent distraction. Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field of study from an accredited university requiredMinimum of eight (8) years of progressive accounting or financial reporting experience requiredMinimum of three (3) years of direct people leadership experience requiredStrong knowledge of US GAAP, financial reporting, and internal controls requiredExperience managing accounting operations and financial close processes requiredStrong analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills requiredCPA Certification requiredPublic accounting background (Big Four or national firm preferred) preferredExperience in manufacturing, pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or other regulated industries preferredKnowledge of inventory accounting, cost accounting, fixed assets, and capital project accounting preferredExperience working in global, matrixed organizations preferredSAP and financial systems experience preferredExperience leading process improvement or transformation initiatives preferred We commit to an inclusive recruitment process and equality of opportunity for all our job applicants.
