Responsibilities

  • Reviews patient history and physician's orders.
  • Educates patient regarding procedures, equipment and exam to ensure patient's understanding and cooperation.
  • Prepares and administers contrast media and/or medications within scope of practice.
  • Maintains ACR & MQSA accreditations, participates in the surveys, completes the renewal packets and image submissions.
  • Enters, transmits, and reports scan results.
  • Troubleshoots, resolves, and/or reports equipment malfunctions as necessary.
  • Participates in ensuring compliance with the Mammography Quality Standards Act (MQSA) regulations and applicable accreditations.
  • Performs imaging procedure(s), biopsies, stereotactic and special procedures.
  • Analyzes results and identifies issues with the quality of imaging results. Takes appropriate action to resolve image quality issues, including repositioning patient and repeating procedure.
  • Keeps current with BiRad and follow-ups on all patients.
  • Positions patient and performs imaging procedure(s), biopsies, stereotactic and special procedures.
  • May assist physician with performing interventional procedures including fine needle aspiration and needle localization.
  • Prepares equipment and supplies.
  • Selects appropriate exposure factors and imaging parameters.
  • Implements safety standards and performs appropriate quality control procedures on equipment.
  • Monitors patient condition continually and reports/responds to changes in status as appropriate.
  • Keeps current with BiRad and follow-ups on all patients.
  • Enters, transmits, and reports scan results.
  • Completes the renewal packets and image submissions.
  • Assures daily work schedule for staff is adequately covered for patient volumes.

Qualifications

  • A current radiation operators license is required.
  • A graduate of a program in discipline is required.
  • A Bachelor's degree is preferred.
  • ARRT (advanced boards in Mammography) certifications are preferred.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required.

Skills

  • Strong communication skills.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Knowledge of mammography procedures and equipment.
  • Experience with quality control and accreditation processes.

Full-Time | Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday | 7:30a - 5:30p
