Senior Maintenance Technician - Weekend Nights

About the role

The Research and Administrative Facilities (RAF) department manages the operations and maintenance of research and administrative buildings, including both the Bastrop and Smithville campuses. The RAF team also includes parking and transportation, audio visual and event operations, as well as the exterior site operations, all of which support all the Houston campuses and properties.

Responsibilities

• Performs inspections, troubleshooting, and routine and preventative maintenance on various equipment, buildings, and utility systems using one or more craft trade skills.
• Maintains records of materials, jobs, and other pertinent information.
• Investigates outages.
• Coordinates and prioritizes the workflow of other technicians.
• Functions as a point of contact for vendors.
• Prepares and submits reports.
• Participates in process improvement initiatives.
• Conduct hardness test on the water softeners as required each shift.
• Conduct chemical test on chill water and hot water closed loop systems for corrosion protection.
• Chemical treatment of closed loop systems.
• Reduce Outside Contractor Costs.
• Provide lead support to the Utilities Operations Superintendent and/or Supervisor, Physical Plant's Superintendent in their absence.
• Coverage of emergency conditions.

Requirements

• At least a 3rd grade stationary engineer license issued by the City of Houston.

Qualifications

• Five years experience in one or more crafts (i.e. plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, HVAC, instrumentation).

Skills

• High School Diploma or Equivalent.
• Associate's Degree Technical or Trade school.

Pay

• Minimum Salary: US Dollar (USD) 69,000
• Midpoint Salary: US Dollar (USD) 86,000
• Maximum Salary : US Dollar (USD) 103,000

• Work Schedule: Wednesday 9PM-7:30AM, Thursday 9PM-7:30AM, Friday 11PM-7:30AM, Saturday 7PM-7:30AM
