Position Summary
Performs one of a variety of skilled, unlicensed maintenance trades: including but limited to painters, masons, and carpenters. Maintains mechanical equipment and building infrastructure to ensure safety and uninterrupted facility operations. Uses central building insight system to track facility needs and ensure safe operations.
Maintaining Courthouse Building and Grounds
- Contributes to the efforts of maintaining a clean facility.
- Provides preventative maintenance to equipment, machinery and tools.
- Performs painting, patching and general building repairs.
- Repairs, installs and tests multiple systems and equipment.
- Maintains heating, ventilation and cooling equipment.
- Initiates request for various parts and equipment as necessary.
- Schedules and escorts contractors.
- Fills out daily lock out/tag out log.
- Performs other duties as required.
Ability to Travel
- Travels to court locations as necessary.

Minimum Requirements
- Education and Experience: High School diploma or G.E.D. equivalency Four (4) years of related work experience Equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered for meeting minimum qualifications
- Applicable trades certification is a plus
- Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Knowledge of in one or more of the following areas: Masonry Painting Carpentry Machinery HVAC systems
- Additional Knowledge, Skills And Abilities: Preferred Building structures OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration) Bio-hazard clean up Building evacuation clean up Chemical handling Safety equipment State and local electrical codes Lock out/tag out Purchasing Maintenance software Skill In Verbal and written communication Maintenance and repair Systems maintenance Use of hand and power tools Paint application and other finishes Ability To Maintain accurate records. Use measurement devices Climb and work from scaffolds and ladders
Physical Demands
- This position requires medium work: Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly having to move objects.
Working Conditions
- Work is frequently performed in indoor, outdoor, warehouses or shops/facilities environments.
- Work requires some exposure to extreme cold (below 32 degrees), moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals or substances and loud noises 85+ decibels such as heavy trucks, construction.
