About the role

The Facilities Management and Capital Planning department manages and maintains 62 state-owned courthouses and 42 leased facilities across ten counties. The position is essential during emergencies and may require working outside regular hours.

Responsibilities

  • Maintains courthouse building and grounds
  • Contributes to facility cleanliness
  • Performs preventative maintenance on equipment, machinery, and tools
  • Carries out painting, patching, and general building repairs
  • Repairs, installs, and tests multiple systems and equipment
  • Maintains heating, ventilation, and cooling equipment
  • Requests and schedules parts and equipment as needed
  • Schedules and escorts contractors
  • Fills out daily lockout/tag out logs
  • Performs other duties as required
  • Travels to court locations as necessary

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent
  • Four years of related work experience
  • Equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered
  • Preferred trade certifications

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of masonry, painting, carpentry, machinery, HVAC systems
  • Additional knowledge of building structures, OSHA, bio-hazard clean-up, building evacuation, chemical handling, safety equipment, state and local electrical codes, lock out/tag out, purchasing, maintenance software
  • Skills in verbal and written communication, maintenance and repair, systems maintenance, use of hand and power tools, paint application and other finishes, ability to maintain accurate records, use measurement devices, climb and work from scaffolds and ladders

Benefits

Salary range: $59,948.20/yr. to $88,354.76/yr., starting at $59,948.20/yr. Pay may advance according to the collective bargaining agreement/MOA with OPEIU, Local 6. The position is considered essential personnel in certain emergencies and may require working outside of regular hours.

Pay

Effective July 13, 2026, the position's salary range is $59,948.20/yr. to $88,354.76/yr., with a starting salary of $59,948.20/yr.

Schedule

The position operates from 6am-2pm, with occasional travel required.
