Responsibilities

  • Responsible for installations, maintenance and repairs of plumbing, carpentry, painting, fixture repair and assembly, as well as other general handyman tasks in retail stores, warehouses, office buildings, and other facilities as needed.
  • Evaluate problematic systems of facilities and determine what repair services need to be performed by others.
  • Provide suggestions and recommendations as needed.
  • Updates our computerized maintenance management system in a timely manner as assigned tasks are completed or issues arise that prevent completion.
  • Answer and dispatch emergency calls as directed by the Maintenance Supervisor during on call periods.
  • Using company accounts, purchases repair and maintenance materials as needed.
  • Maintains and stock supply inventory; gathers and compiles information.
  • Performs all assigned tasks in a safe, workmanlike manner, and in accordance with any local building code requirements.
  • Tracks mileage and other reimbursable expenses and submits properly completed expense report at least once per month.

Requirements

  • High school graduate or equivalent.
  • Two to Four years’ of recent experience in maintenance of a multi-unit commercial building or retail environment that required driving between work locations.
  • Considerable knowledge and experience in plumbing, carpentry, and general maintenance and repair in a commercial setting.
  • General understanding of various Federal, State and County codes and regulations involving construction, installation, fire, safety and sanitation.
  • Own reliable transportation and valid “clear” driver’s license and be able to drive to any location within the Goodwill market area.
  • Proficient in using MS Office Outlook (email and calendar).

Qualifications

  • High School Diplomas or GED, advanced studies preferred.
  • Five to ten years of previous experience in general carpentry, plumbing, painting, and other general maintenance activities.

Skills

  • Ability to analyze facts and exercise sound judgment in arriving at conclusions.
  • Ability to prioritize effectively.

Benefits

This position is eligible for a 403(b)/401(k) plan with match after one year. Bonus eligible.
