Summary Of Responsibilities

  • Diagnose and troubleshoot programming and electrical issues.
  • Coordinate and monitor the electrical work of external contractors.
  • Maintain spares inventory with a focus on the plant electrical distribution system components.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and environmental standards.
  • Create, read, and analyze charts, work orders, blueprints, electrical drawings, and diagrams.
  • Recommend and perform predictive, preventive, and emergency maintenance.
  • Supervise a crew of hourly maintenance employees.
  • Communicate with upstream and downstream operations and non-Cleveland-Cliffs, Inc. contractors.
  • Enforce safety regulations, conduct daily safety communications, monitor safety activities, and conduct safety inspections.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Three (3) years’ experience as an electrical maintenance supervisor in a heavy industrial environment.
  • Associate or Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering/electrical engineering technology or five (5) years electrical maintenance supervisory experience with a High school diploma/GED.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Five (5) years’ experience as an electrical maintenance supervisor in a heavy industrial environment, preferably in a high-voltage electrical distribution system environment.
  • Knowledge of industrial power equipment – transformers, switchgear – up to 13.8kv DC&AC drives, including variable speed AC drives.
  • Experience with scheduling, coordinating, and executing standardized preventive maintenance practices on high-voltage electrical distribution systems and tracking same with detailed reports and record-keeping discipline.
  • Experience with managing electrical upgrade projects.
