Senior Machinist
Responsibilities
- Lay out, set up, operate, and make tool adjustments for various types of manual, numerically controlled, and computerized machine shop equipment.
- Produces quality products in a timely fashion.
- Manufactures and inspects detailed parts and tools from blueprints, sketches, drawings, and verbal instructions using a variety of machining tools and equipment (mills, lathes, drill presses, and other machining equipment).
- Uses mathematical and geometrical calculations.
- Works from blueprints and process sheets.
- Sets up and runs various parts on manual lathes as well as Brown and Sharpe single spindle automatic machines.
- Troubleshoots and diagnoses processes to eliminate variability and improve throughput.
- Verifies the quality of their product and accuracy of all work.
- Interprets dimensional inspections against provided blueprints.
- Ensures adherence to shop and machine safety procedures.
- Uses micrometers, calipers, dial indicators, and other measuring tools.
- Understands the basic application of various cutting tools.
- Flexible, self-motivated, good interpersonal skills, and ability to work well in a team environment.
- Able to work overtime and weekends as business needs require.
Requirements
- 3+ years' experience in a similar role.
- High School/GED required.
- Technical/Trade School preferred.
- Able to lift, push, pull 50 lbs.
- Manual machine experience is required.
- Brown and Shape single spindle experience a plus.
- Experience with stainless steels and high-temperature alloys.
- Experience with PC skills.
- Lift truck experience a plus.
Qualifications

Pay
