Senior Machine Learning Engineer

What You'll Do

• Author complex, high-fidelity reasoning traces that capture how an LLM should plan, use tools, and make decisions across sophisticated real-world tasks
• Design and document structured decision-making flows that train models to reason reliably in multi-step scenarios
• Review and refine reasoning traces for logical soundness, completeness, and clarity
• Apply senior-level architectural thinking to ensure planning and tool-use documentation meets the highest quality standards
• Develop data strategies that help LLMs navigate intricate, ambiguous, and technically demanding scenarios
• Work independently and asynchronously — fully on your own schedule

Who You Are

• Experienced in machine learning, AI research, or a closely related technical field with a strong focus on model reasoning and decision-making
• Skilled at decomposing complex problems into clear, logical, well-documented steps
• Deeply familiar with LLM evaluation and training methodologies
• Able to think like a model — anticipating failure modes, edge cases, and reasoning gaps
• A clear, precise technical writer who can document nuanced thought processes in structured formats
• Self-directed and reliable when working independently without close supervision

Nice to Have

• Prior experience with data annotation, data quality assurance, or model evaluation systems
• Top-tier Kaggle competition results (Grandmaster or Master level), demonstrating elite-level understanding of model performance and feature engineering
• Experience working with or evaluating frontier AI systems
• Background in AI safety, alignment research, or RLHF workflows
