Job Overview

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Lead the deployment of a best-in-class Transportation Management System (TMS), such as SAP TM or 4PL integration, to streamline operations.
  • Define comprehensive functional requirements and coordinate implementation plans to ensure seamless integration with adjacent IT systems.
  • Architect and implement a holistic, multi-modal inbound transportation strategy encompassing LTL, FTL, small parcel, ocean, and air freight.
  • Drive departmental alignment to support both pre-series and series production phases through lane-specific logistics solutions.
  • Own the end-to-end RFx (RFI, RFP, RFQ) process for inbound transportation services, including the preparation of Statements of Work (SOW) and pricing templates.
  • Evaluate supplier proposals and lead contract negotiations to ensure optimal value and performance.
  • Oversee logistics service providers to ensure strict adherence to contractual obligations and operational KPIs.
  • Foster strong partnerships and drive accountability through structured performance management and regular audits.
  • Champion continuous improvement initiatives by analyzing transportation flows and performance data to identify cost-saving enhancements.
  • Define and track key performance indicators (KPIs) via actionable reports and dashboards to inform strategic decision-making.
  • Ensure all transportation activities remain in compliance with relevant regulatory requirements.
  • Participate in cross-functional meetings and travel as necessary to support organizational events and milestones.

Basic Qualifications and Skills

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field (equivalent experience may be considered).
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in inbound logistics planning, preferably within the automotive manufacturing industry.
  • Professional background working directly with FTL/LTL carriers or brokers is required.
  • Proven expertise in TMS implementation and management (e.g., SAP TM or equivalent platforms).
  • Extensive experience in RFx processes, including competitive sourcing, bid analysis, and contract development.
  • Hands-on experience designing multi-modal sourcing strategies, including FTL, LTL, Cross-docking (xD), and Milk Runs (MR).
  • Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail.
  • Strong project management capabilities with the ability to influence stakeholders and drive alignment.
  • Proficiency in developing and presenting data-driven reports to executive leadership.
