Senior Logistics Buyer
The Role
This role is critical to ensuring supply continuity, prototype readiness, budget alignment, and fast execution across hardware programs. The team operates in a fast-paced, time-sensitive environment and is currently composed of two experienced buyers who manage workload by commodity ownership. Their primary responsibility is to assess supply versus demand weekly and issue purchase orders to address imbalances. They procure a wide range of components, including electronic parts such as DIMMs, SSDs, and development cards, as well as custom sockets, cables, fans, heatsinks, and sheet metal. Buyers work closely with Engineering, Program Management, Finance, and Corporate Procurement to validate demand, execute procurement, and provide timely status updates.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze supply and demand weekly to identify gaps, risks, and purchasing actions.
- Drive purchase requisitions and purchase order execution for electronic hardware, custom sheet metal, and cable assemblies.
- Provide clear order status, delivery visibility, and issue escalation updates to management.
- Maintain purchase order dates and procurement timing to support quarterly budget planning and execution accuracy.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of procurement, buying, planning, logistics, or related supply chain experience.
- Procurement experience supporting electronic components or hardware-related materials.
- Experienced working at a Contract Manufacturer for electronics (Preferred).
- Proficiency with MRP systems and strong working knowledge of purchase order execution.
- Strong Excel skills for tracking, analysis, and status reporting.
