Annual Salary Range: $104,308 - $139,079. Non-exempt, non-union represented position allowing for up to four days of remote work per week. Based in either San Francisco or Los Angeles offices with periodic travel between locations.

About the role

The Office of Human Resources is seeking a Senior Human Resources Analyst to oversee and administer the State Bar’s leave of absence program in accordance with all relevant State and Federal laws. The role involves advising managers, supervisors, and employees on leave and disability matters, monitoring and analyzing compliance for new and evolving leave management requirements, and recommending compliance actions.

The Senior Human Resources Analyst will serve as an expert in leave management and disability for State Bar Offices and other Human Resources team members, interpreting and assimilating legislation and policies into guidance on complex issues.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee and administer the State Bar’s leave of absence program in compliance with State and Federal laws.
  • Advise managers, supervisors, and employees on leave and disability matters.
  • Monitor, analyze, and recommend compliance actions for evolving leave management requirements.
  • Serve as the State Bar’s workers’ compensation administrator.
  • Assist with reasonable accommodations and other employee relation matters as assigned.
  • Interpret and provide guidance on complex disability and leave management issues.

Requirements

  • Strong working knowledge of current disability and leave laws and best practices, including:
    • Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA)
    • California Fair Employment and Housing Act (FEHA)
    • Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA)
    • California Family Rights Act (CFRA)
    • Pregnancy Disability Leave (PDL)
    • Military Leave
    • Workers' Compensation
    • Reasonable Accommodations
  • Ability to perform specialized and complex duties in a highly independent manner.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a field related to essential duties or equivalent academic achievement.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience dealing with:
    • Employee leave laws
    • Disability laws
    • Employee relations
    • Benefits administration techniques

Pay

Annual Salary Range: $104,308 - $139,079

Schedule

  • Up to four days of remote work per week.
  • Position based in either San Francisco or Los Angeles offices with periodic travel between locations.
