Annual salary range: $104,308 - $139,079. Non-exempt, non-union represented position allowing for up to four days of remote work per week. This role can be based in either San Francisco or Los Angeles and may require periodic travel between offices.

About the role

The Office of Human Resources is seeking a Senior Human Resources Analyst to oversee and administer the State Bar’s leave of absence program in accordance with all relevant State and Federal laws. The role involves advising managers, supervisors, and employees on leave and disability matters, monitoring and analyzing compliance requirements, and recommending actions for evolving leave management needs.

The Senior Human Resources Analyst will serve as an expert in leave management and disability for State Bar offices and HR team members, interpreting legislation and policies into guidance on complex issues.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee and administer the State Bar’s leave of absence program in compliance with State and Federal laws.
  • Advise managers, supervisors, and employees on leave and disability matters.
  • Monitor, analyze, and recommend compliance actions for new and evolving leave management requirements.
  • Serve as the State Bar’s workers’ compensation administrator.
  • Assist with reasonable accommodations and other employee relation matters as assigned.
  • Interpret and apply legislation and policies to provide guidance on complex disability and leave management issues.

Requirements

  • Strong working knowledge of current disability and leave laws and best practices, including but not limited to:
    • Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA)
    • California Fair Employment and Housing Act (FEHA)
    • Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA)
    • California Family Rights Act (CFRA)
    • Pregnancy Disability Leave (PDL)
    • Military Leave
    • Workers’ Compensation
    • Reasonable Accommodations
  • Ability to perform specialized and complex duties in a highly independent manner.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a field that develops skills related to essential duties, or equivalent academic achievement.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience dealing with employee leave laws, disability laws, employee relations, and benefits administration techniques.

Pay

Annual salary range: $104,308 - $139,079.

Schedule

Up to four days of remote work per week. Position may require periodic travel between San Francisco and Los Angeles offices.
