About the Role

The Sr LMF Underwriter will report to the Director of Underwriting. The successful candidate will exhibit and implement a sound understanding of risk and underwriting methodologies to achieve desired membership and profit targets. The individual will need to be self-motivated with the ability to work independently and within a team environment, demonstrating strong follow-up, organization, prioritization skills, and excellent attention to detail. The role requires maintaining confidential information, meeting tight deadlines, and managing essential functions independently while mentoring staff.

Responsibilities

• Exercise sound underwriting judgment and make recommendations on appropriate funding arrangements (FI, ASO, or LMF).
• Mentor fellow underwriting teammates in LMF underwriting best practices.
• Manage multiple competing priorities effectively.
• Demonstrate familiarity with Point32Health commercial products and systems.
• Update rate logs and other systems as needed.
• Prepare FI, ASO, and LMF large group quotations for new business opportunities and renewals.
• Maintain logs and reporting associated with underwritten groups.
• Interact with sales and account management teams.
• Peer review rates prepared by others.
• Develop and maintain reports using various systems.
• Consistently apply company Plan policies.
• Seek guidance from Underwriting management when appropriate.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Actuarial Science, Finance, or other analytical discipline.
• 5–7 years of experience in an LMF underwriting setting.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficiency with MS Office applications (Excel, Access, Word, PowerPoint).
• Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and communicate effectively with all internal departments.

Working Conditions

• Must be able to work under normal office conditions and remotely as required.
• Work may require simultaneous use of a telephone/headset and PC/keyboard, with extended periods of sitting.
• May be required to work additional hours beyond the standard work schedule.

Pay

Salary Range: $89,892.80 – $134,839.20
