About the role
Merrill Gardens at Woodstock is currently seeking a Resident Care Director to support residents within their beautiful community.
Responsibilities
- Develops and implements the highest standards for assisted living services.
- Works directly with residents to evaluate needs and services.
- Conducts and/or assists with electronic evaluation of incoming residents, and with periodic re-evaluation.
- Helps residents with orientation to and adjustment to the community.
- Provides direct care to residents as needed.
- Accurately assesses, communicates, and documents resident status.
- Observes and reports any significant changes in resident behavior and health.
- Communicates with resident family members, physicians, and pharmacists.
- Ensures all Resident Rights and Responsibilities are protected and enforced.
- Addresses difficult resident behaviors with dignity and respect.
- Guarantees compliance of all State Rules and Regulations of assisted living.
- Provides coaching, feedback, and developmental opportunities to team members.
- Evaluates team members’ skills and competencies.
- Holds team members accountable for performance.
- Oversees training and development of team members.
- Prepares staffing schedules to meet community requirements.
- Adheres to budgetary guidelines.
- Coordinates with General Manager for financial stability.
- Maintains all resident records and department documentation.
- Complies with state-mandated reporting.
- Audits AL services for regulatory compliance.
Requirements
- Current LPN/LVN or RN licensure, as specified by state agency.
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent.
- First Aid/CPR certification within 30 days of hire where required by state.
- Completion of dementia training as required by state regulations within six months of hire date if applicable.
- 3-years’ related experience, training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience in assisted living, geriatric nursing, or gerontology and dementia care.
- Experience in medication administration and hands-on personal care preferred.
- Demonstrated ability in budgeting and cost control.
- Experience in operating an electronic care system.
Physical Requirements
- Frequent standing, walking, lifting (up to 75 lbs), and assisting with resident care.
- Regular bending, reaching, and physical movement throughout the workday.
