About the role

Merrill Gardens at Woodstock is currently seeking a Resident Care Director to support residents within their beautiful community.

Responsibilities

  • Develops and implements the highest standards for assisted living services.
  • Works directly with residents to evaluate needs and services.
  • Conducts and/or assists with electronic evaluation of incoming residents, and with periodic re-evaluation.
  • Helps residents with orientation to and adjustment to the community.
  • Provides direct care to residents as needed.
  • Accurately assesses, communicates, and documents resident status.
  • Observes and reports any significant changes in resident behavior and health.
  • Communicates with resident family members, physicians, and pharmacists.
  • Ensures all Resident Rights and Responsibilities are protected and enforced.
  • Addresses difficult resident behaviors with dignity and respect.
  • Guarantees compliance of all State Rules and Regulations of assisted living.
  • Provides coaching, feedback, and developmental opportunities to team members.
  • Evaluates team members’ skills and competencies.
  • Holds team members accountable for performance.
  • Oversees training and development of team members.
  • Prepares staffing schedules to meet community requirements.
  • Adheres to budgetary guidelines.
  • Coordinates with General Manager for financial stability.
  • Maintains all resident records and department documentation.
  • Complies with state-mandated reporting.
  • Audits AL services for regulatory compliance.

Requirements

  • Current LPN/LVN or RN licensure, as specified by state agency.
  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent.
  • First Aid/CPR certification within 30 days of hire where required by state.
  • Completion of dementia training as required by state regulations within six months of hire date if applicable.
  • 3-years’ related experience, training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience in assisted living, geriatric nursing, or gerontology and dementia care.
  • Experience in medication administration and hands-on personal care preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability in budgeting and cost control.
  • Experience in operating an electronic care system.

Physical Requirements

  • Frequent standing, walking, lifting (up to 75 lbs), and assisting with resident care.
  • Regular bending, reaching, and physical movement throughout the workday.
