Senior Living Executive Chef

About the role

Merrill Gardens at Huntington Beach is seeking an Executive Chef to support residents in their wellness journey. The ideal candidate will be passionate about working with seniors and committed to creating an atmosphere that values individualism and dignity.

Responsibilities

• Manage all aspects of the dining program with high-level customer service
• Oversee staffing and inventory/budget control for the community dining program
• Maintain a strong presence in the dining room to ensure quality and resident satisfaction
• Schedule and supervise all food preparation activities
• Establish and prepare menu items from approved recipes and initiate creative menu items
• Oversee training and development of dining program team members
• Provide accurate and timely reports to management
• Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree in Culinary Arts, preferred
• 7+ years of food service experience and 2+ years of management experience
• Knowledge of food safety, sanitation, proper storage and handling procedures
• Required certifications including ServSafe and HACCP

Pay

Actual pay rate within stated pay range is determined based on relevant factors in compliance with state and local wage laws. This range reflects what we reasonably expect to pay upon hire.

Schedule

This role requires frequent standing, walking, and manual handling of materials up to 50 lbs. Regular bending, lifting, and reaching are also part of daily responsibilities. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
