Senior Linux/UNIX System Administrator

Responsibilities

• Administer Linux/UNIX-based systems, including RedHat and Solaris, ensuring smooth day-to-day operations.
• Perform proactive space management, scalability improvements, and implement high-availability strategies.
• Support system migrations, including physical-to-virtual conversions and cloud integrations.
• Implement backup and disaster recovery strategies.
• Troubleshoot complex system issues and perform root cause analysis to ensure system uptime.
• Develop and document scripts for automation of administrative tasks.
• Aid in the development of IT infrastructure replacement plans and hardware refresh cycles.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in Linux/UNIX system administration.
• Strong knowledge of RedHat 7.x, Solaris, and other Linux variants.
• Certifications: Security+, RHCSA, RHCE (preferred).
• Experience with containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes) is a plus.
• Top Secret Clearance IAT Level 2.
• Desired: Oracle Solaris 11 Systems Administration I, II, III, Oracle Solaris 11 Logical Domains, Oracle Solaris 11 Zones, Oracle Solaris Essentials and Shell, Oracle Solaris 11 ZFS Administration, Oracle Solaris 11 Security Administration, Oracle Solaris 11 Performance Tuning and Management, Red Hat Automation with Ansible, Red Hat System Administration I, II, IIIRed Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE), Red Hat Satellite Administration, Red Hat Enterprise Virtualization, Comptia Linux+
