Iridium is an award-winning satellite communications company that offers global voice and data connectivity. We support critical communications needs for individuals, businesses, and the IoT through our unique network. We seek a Senior Systems Security Administrator to manage compute environments supporting Iridium Government services.
About the role
- Identify and implement ideas and solutions related to compute environment administration and maintenance
- Install, maintain, and upgrade data center infrastructure equipment including Linux servers, virtual machines, backup and timing systems
- Analyze and automate processes to promote rapid response to known issues
- Monitor networks and equipment daily, respond to alerts, and provide on-call support
- Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve problems impacting network access, login functionality, and application availability
- Independently address trouble tickets, create configuration change orders, and test corrective actions
Responsibilities
- Evaluate and troubleshoot compute systems after STIGs have been applied
- Work collaboratively with others to monitor networks and equipment daily
- Provide on-call support for Iridium and government operations
- Resolve problems impacting network access, login functionality, and application availability
- Address trouble tickets, create configuration change orders, and test corrective actions
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, MIS, or related field OR equivalent relevant experience
- 8+ years of relevant experience in IT and Cyber Security industry
- Competent with MS Office tools and knowledgeable with ticket tracking systems
- Expertise in administering and troubleshooting Linux-based systems
- Experience with VMware/vCenter/Netapp & ESXi
- Proven ability to diagnose and resolve database connectivity and access issues
- Excellent communication skills, able to convey products, deliverables, analyses, and issues to groups outside of your team
- Confidence and ability to build relationships with leadership and colleagues outside of your team
- Proven ability to think critically and solve problems creatively
- Prioritize tasks and manage deadlines
Qualifications
- U.S. Citizenship
- Active/current Secret Security Clearance or ability to obtain one
Skills
- Experience using Cisco routers and switches
- Former military experience with security clearance supporting cyber security
- Familiarity working on government contracts
- Experience working in a telecommunications environment

- Ability to lift and carry normal 1 person lift rated equipment (30-50 lbs)
Pay
Compensation is competitive and commensurate with experience.
