Location: Cherry Hill, NJ - 3-4 days/week on-site Position Overview Our client is looking for an experienced Senior Linux Infrastructure Engineer to lead the administration, optimization, and support of mission-critical Linux environments. This role is responsible for ensuring the reliability, security, and performance of enterprise infrastructure supporting application platforms, database services, virtualization technologies, and advanced computing environments. The successful candidate will play a key role in automation initiatives, disaster recovery planning, and infrastructure modernization efforts. Key Responsibilities Manage and maintain Linux-based server environments across physical, virtual, and clustered infrastructures. Ensure operating systems and supporting platforms remain compliant with organizational security standards through ongoing patch management, hardening, and system maintenance. Monitor infrastructure health, troubleshoot performance concerns, and implement proactive measures to optimize system availability. Design, document, and maintain business continuity and disaster recovery processes to support operational resilience. Deploy, configure, and support server platforms used for AI, data processing, and computational workloads. Administer enterprise application environments running on Linux, including middleware and Java-based platforms. Support and maintain Linux high-performance computing (HPC) environments and distributed computing resources. Provide operational support for commercial off-the-shelf software as well as internally developed applications. Oversee Oracle database infrastructure from a systems perspective, including backup verification, recovery readiness, and availability monitoring. Implement and support fault-tolerant and highly available infrastructure solutions across server and virtualization technologies. Partner with networking and security teams to ensure secure connectivity, appropriate segmentation, and storage network integration. Manage enterprise storage configurations utilizing technologies such as multipathing, logical volume management, XFS file systems, and device management frameworks. Develop automation and operational tooling using scripting languages such as Python and Bash. Utilize infrastructure-as-code and configuration management technologies, including Terraform and Ansible, to streamline deployment and operational processes. Participate in infrastructure planning, upgrades, and continuous improvement initiatives. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related technical discipline. 8+ years of hands-on experience supporting enterprise Linux environments in a production setting. Demonstrated expertise with Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) and related Linux distributions. Experience managing containerized and virtualized platforms, including technologies such as OpenShift and VMware. Strong understanding of infrastructure resiliency, failover architectures, and disaster recovery methodologies. Experience supporting enterprise application servers, middleware platforms, and large-scale infrastructure environments. Familiarity with Oracle database ecosystems, backup strategies, and recovery concepts. Knowledge of load balancing technologies, including F5 solutions. Experience leveraging cloud platforms such as Microsoft Azure and/or Amazon Web Services (AWS). Proven scripting and automation experience using Python, Bash, or similar technologies. Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, communication, and collaboration skills. Preferred Experience Exposure to AI/ML infrastructure environments and specialized Linux distributions supporting AI workloads. Experience with large-scale compute clusters or research computing environments. Knowledge of enterprise storage architecture and SAN technologies, including iSCSI connectivity. Compensation: $125,000 to $145,000 annually Compensation is based on a range of factors that include relevant experience, knowledge, skills, other job-related qualifications.
