Responsibilities
- Provide quality care to veteran residents ensuring their health, safety, and security in accordance with established agency Standard Operating Procedures and Nurse Practice Act.
- Administer medications and treatments per MD orders, monitor and provide interventions to meet resident needs, complete accurate clinical documentation.
- Communicate effectively in English: reading, writing, speaking, and understanding.
- Work on a schedule that includes weekends and holidays.
- Assign nursing care to team members, coordinate other duties, and assist with patient orientation and care coordination.
- Report pertinent observations and reactions to appropriate personnel and record accurately.
- Assist physicians with special tests and procedures within the scope of the Florida Nurse Practice Act.
- Maintain standards of nursing care, implement policies, and comply with local, state, and federal rules and regulations.
- Ensure economic utilization of supplies and maintain a clean, safe environment.
- Participate in continuing educational programs and quality improvement initiatives.
Requirements
- Valid licensure as a Practical Nurse in the state of Florida.
- Valid certification in Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR).
- Ability to work weekends and holidays.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Completion of due diligence process, including background check and drug test.
Pay & Benefits
Annual Salary: $50,960.78, Paid Bi-Weekly. Overtime eligible; may be eligible for shift differential. Excellent retirement package, deferred compensation plan, health, vision, dental, disability, and supplemental insurance available at reasonable rates. Paid vacation and sick leave, nine paid holidays, and a tuition waiver for State Universities and Community Colleges (up to 6 credits per semester).
Qualifications
- One (1) year experience providing practical nursing services in a long-term health care environment.
- Experience passing medications in a skilled nursing facility.
- Experience in the use of Electronic Medical Records.
- Knowledgeable in the use of computer applications: Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel).
