Senior Library Information Specialist - Interlibrary Loan
This position works in the Interlibrary Loan Department and reports to the Interlibrary Loan Supervisor. The Sr. Library Information Specialist will collaborate with the Interlibrary Loan team, including the Head of Resource Sharing, to ensure efficient and effective services that meet the needs of the University Libraries' constituents.
Responsibilities
- Process interlibrary loan requests for research materials
- Serve as a primary point of contact for users of the interlibrary loan service
- Develop and maintain documentation for interlibrary loan processes and guidelines
- Troubleshoot technical and workflow issues
- Demonstrate commitment to Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion through direct action
- Communicate clearly inside and outside the department to ensure timely service
- Oversee student employee work, including training and quality checks
- Complete project work efficiently and independently
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and at least 1 year of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired
Qualifications
- Experience working in a library
- Successful experience in a customer service role
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in teams with diverse roles and knowledge
- Demonstrated attention to detail
- Experience working with interlibrary loan systems (ILLiad, OCLC WorldShare, Clio, BSCAN ILL, etc.)
Schedule
This position works a set schedule, Monday through Friday, for a total of 8 hours daily between 7:30 AM and 5:00 PM. A regular schedule will be established upon hire with supervisor approval. Flexible work arrangements may be supported in alignment with university guidelines.
Pay
The anticipated hiring range for this position is $18.08–$21.00 per hour. Salary is determined by factors including education, skills, experience, and organizational requirements.
