Benefits: Health insurancePaid time offCompetitive salary AET Federal is seeking a Senior Oracle DBA to join a four-person team supporting a federal agency's server-based applications. The team includes a Senior and Mid-Level DBA for Oracle and the same pair for SQL Server. The Senior Oracle DBA serves as the Oracle Team Lead and is responsible for Oracle database administration, performance, availability, backup and recovery, disaster recovery, patching, and critical incident response. The role also provides technical guidance to the Mid-Level Oracle DBA. Key Responsibilities Oracle administration and monitoring Administer and monitor production and non-production Oracle database environmentsSupport Oracle Database, Grid Infrastructure, ASM, and RACMonitor database health, availability, storage, backups, and performanceTroubleshoot complex database, application, and connectivity issuesManage ServiceNow incidents, requests, and changes Maintenance and performance Plan and perform Oracle patching, upgrades, installations, and scheduled maintenancePerform routine database maintenance, including tablespace, statistics, storage, security, and user administrationDiagnose and resolve performance issues using AWR, ASH, ADDM, alert logs, and execution plansTune SQL/PLSQL, indexes, optimizer statistics, and database configurations Backup, recovery and disaster recovery Manage and validate Oracle RMAN backup and recovery proceduresPerform RMAN restores, recovery testing, and point-in-time recoveryLead failover and disaster recovery testing and execute recovery proceduresSupport high-availability environments using RAC and Data GuardMaintain DR runbooks and document recovery testing Leadership and collaboration Lead response to critical production incidents and perform root-cause analysisProvide technical guidance to the Mid-Level Oracle DBACoordinate with application, infrastructure, and technical teamsMaintain database documentation, procedures, and recovery plansContribute to weekly support reporting and remain available on Microsoft Teams during core hours Required Qualifications 8+ years of hands-on Oracle database administration experienceStrong experience with Oracle Database, Grid Infrastructure, ASM, and RACStrong SQL and PL/SQL skillsHands-on experience with Oracle RMAN backup, restore, and recoveryExperience executing database recovery, failover, and disaster recovery testingStrong Oracle performance tuning experience using AWR, ASH, ADDM, and execution plansExperience with Oracle patching, upgrades, maintenance, and production supportExperience leading critical database incidents and root-cause analysisExperience with ServiceNow or a comparable ITSM toolStrong communication, documentation, and collaboration skillsWilling and able to pass a federal background investigationAble to work 8 hours per day within 7:30 AM–6:00 PM ET, with occasional scheduled after-hours workWilling to sign a letter of commitment for this proposal This is a remote position.
