Responsibilities
- Aid the Team Lead in training and mentoring new or junior Lending Specialists to maintain consistent workflow and processes.
- Act as the primary point of contact for internal and external customers/stakeholders from approval to deal closing, addressing questions, requests, and inquiries throughout the loan lifecycle.
- Manage the deal flow pipeline with Relationship Managers and coordinate interactions with downstream stakeholders to ensure timely closings.
- Coordinate and review closing documentation with relevant stakeholders, including counsel or internal document preparation, for due diligence, application processing, insurance, operational feasibility, optimal execution mechanics, and regulatory requirements.
- Assist with the execution and process flow of transactions, escalating issues and designing solutions to cover risks through adequate controls and protections.
- Order necessary items for file completion and prepare supplemental documentation as needed.
- Partner with relevant operations teams (closing and servicing departments) to ensure proper booking, accrual reconciliations, and daily cash positions.
- Ensure initial loan funding (if applicable) and ongoing loan activity (payments, draws, payoff, etc.) are properly processed and booked with downstream stakeholders.
- Carefully review loan documents for closing to ensure accuracy; close loans when necessary.
- Communicate with Lenders any issues that arise prior to closing.
Requirements
- Excellent interpersonal skills, including strong verbal and written communication abilities.
- Confidence in enforcing policies, procedures, and processes, even when faced with challenges.
- Proficiency in PC skills using Microsoft Office applications and the Bank's core system, as well as nCino software.
- Highly skilled in customer service, organizational abilities, data input, time management, and handling multiple tasks simultaneously in a high-volume, deadline-driven work environment.
- A high school diploma or equivalent, combined with a minimum of 5 years of Lending Assistant or Loan Processor and Supervisory experience.
- Prior experience in Commercial Real Estate, C&I, or specialized loan documentation is preferred.
