About the role

Schneider Electric is seeking a Senior Legal Counsel with at least five years of commercial contracting experience for a hybrid (2–3 days per week onsite) position based in Boston, MA; Nashville, TN; Raleigh, NC; Houston, TX or Chicago, IL. This role involves acting as a strategic partner to various business units, providing legal oversight and leading the negotiation of complex equipment, software, and service agreements.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the drafting, analysis, and negotiation of complex sales, software, and service agreements of varying scope and complexity.

  • Serve as a dedicated business counsel, providing actionable legal advice to internal stakeholders to support product offerings and customer projects.

  • Provide proactive "pre-dispute" guidance to mitigate risk and resolve customer conflicts early in the process.

  • Drive thought leadership by developing best-in-class contracting templates, clause libraries, and negotiation playbooks.

  • Ensure business activities, policies, and transactions align with relevant laws, regulations, and company policies.

  • Develop and deliver legal training programs to internal business clients to enhance their commercial fluency.

Qualifications

  • A J.D. from an accredited U.S. law school and active Bar admission in at least one state.

  • Proven Experience: 5+ years directly handling, drafting, and negotiating complex commercial equipment and service agreements.

  • Proven Experience on high value contracts in the Data Center or EPC space preferred.

  • In-house experience is a plus; high-level law firm experience will be considered.

  • Strategic Communication: The ability to translate intricate legal concepts into clear, actionable guidance for global teams.

Pay

The expected pay range for this position is USD 142,400 - USD 213,600 per year. This pay range includes base pay and short-term incentives.
